Deteriorate
A series of mixed-media prints focusing on the mental deterioration of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Each printed layer represents another part of the aging process, and the distancing one must feel as they lose their memories of, and connections to, their loved ones. These works convey the sadness and confusion that is involved with Alzheimer’s disease. It is hard to forget the lonely lost look in the patient’s eyes, and these haunting looks became the focus of my prints.
